PALM OS USERS: If you downloaded the Age Calculator prior to 1/15/2004, please delete the old version of the program from your Palm OS PDA and download and install the latest version. The current version corrects an infrequent issue that was discovered where the total number of days provided in the calculated age exceeded 30 or was displayed as a negative number. (Note that this problem did not affect the Pocket PC version of the application.)

The Chronological Age Calculator for Palm OS can be used with Palm OS version 3.0 or higher. Follow the directions below to install the Age Calculator for use with a Palm OS device and a desktop computer that uses either (1) Windows OS® 98 SE or higher or (2) Mac OS® 9.2 or higher.

First Step: Download and Unzip the Age Calculator File

1. Download the AgeCalc.zip file by clicking it below:

   and choosing to Save the file in the c:\My documents folder on your computer's hard drive.
   
   
2. Once the download is complete, choose to Open the file. (If this choice isn’t automatically displayed, open Windows® Explorer by clicking on the Start button at the bottom left of your screen and choosing Programs and then Windows Explorer. Then find the AgeCalc.zip file in your c:\My documents folder and double-click it.)
   
   Your system’s Winzip software should open and display the AgeCalc.prc file. If your system doesn't open WinZip software window to "unzip" the file, you probably don’t have WinZip software installed on your computer. You can download the WinZip software from the WinZip site at: http://www.winzip.com
   
   
3. Click on the AgeCalc.prc file and click the Extract icon. Choose to put the extracted file in a location of your choice (like c:\My documents or c:\temp). Click the Extract button.
   
   
4. When the unzipping (or extracting) is complete, close the Winzip software.

Using Palm OS device with Windows OS 98 SE or higher or with Mac OS X v. 10.0 or higher

1. Locate the AgeCalc.prc file on your computer and double-click it. An "Install Tool" dialog box will appear.
   
   
2. Choose the desired profile (for most users, only one profile, the user's name, will be presented). The "AgeCalc.prc" file will be added automatically to the Palm installation table.
   
   
3. Select "Done" to close the Palm Install Tool dialog box.
   
   
4. The next time you perform a syncing operation, the Age Calculator will be added to your handheld device.

Using Palm OS device with Mac OS 9.2

1. Open the HotSync® Manager application.
   
   
2. Choose "Handheld Files" from the HotSync menu on the menu bar.
   
   
3. Choose "Add To List."
   
   
4. Locate the AgeCalc.prc file on your computer and double-click it.
   
   
5. Select "Done" to close the Palm Install Tool dialog box.
   
   
6. The next time you perform a syncing operation, the Age Calculator will be added to your handheld device.
